The next frontier for Chelsea

Chelsea claimed a double this season but owner Roman Abramovich may not be satisfied

Chelsea have won the Premier League title but the question remains what's next for them, perhaps a treble under Mourinho next year. As we have seen in the past that Roman Abramovich rates the Champions League very highly. Mourinho's basis of exit last time too was Champions League failure.

Surely Chelsea can't be content winning the EPL, they must be craving for more.For that to happen they need to strengthen their ranks and ammunition.

If we look at latest football transfer rumours about Chelsea, it brings to fore possibly the exit of Petr Cech, a potential switch for a couple of Manchester City players to the London club, top European talent – the likes of Paul Pogba and Alexandre Lacazette and of course a host of budding young talent.

Surely Cech's departure was inevitable with Courtois having a regular place.The Belgian has consistently outshone Cech and has come out as this year’s best goalkeeper, though some may say De Gea has been the best this season.

The call on Paul Pogba is a tough one really, under Mourinho he can blossom to become world’s finest but if he manages to get him is a big question. For Pogba if he wants to make strides in his career personally I’ll like him to play in either La Liga or EPL.

Since there is no interest yet shown by either Real Madrid or Barcelona chances are that he might land up in England.

Recent reports tell that Roman Abramovich is ready to push for Bale, though Manchester United are also keen. The Premier League is the place where Bale first thrived, recent records also suggest that players who came back such as Fabregas (from Barcelona), Adebayor (from Real Madrid) were better than before.

Imagine the Chelsea team with Bale on the flanks with Costa, Hazard and Fabregas. This is perhaps the impetus they need. Even if Bale is out of form and his display against Juventus was below his standards this could possibly be the opening he also wants.

The Yaya Toure transfer is perhaps to act as a substitute to Matic.

One last thing that perplexes me is that the youth system of Chelsea which recently won in Europe is failing to produce regular senior squad players. By all means, this shall be John Terry's final season as a regular and how upfront an out and out striker is scarce in resources was quite visible this season.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s inclusion may be seen as a step forward but more work needs to be done in this aspect.

Jose is not known for building stars he is known for building star teams.The way he built a team at Inter around Lucio, Sneijder and Milito the same can be replicated here at Chelsea.
