Under-14 Nationals: Manipur beat Maharashtra to clinch crown

The Manipur Under-14 Team beat Maharashtra 3-1 in the final to clinch the Under-14 National Championship Football Tournament at the Kalyani Municipal Stadium on Sunday, November 17.

N. Dhruba Singh notched-up a hattrick on either side of half-time to cancel out Maharashtra’s MD Kamran’s opener in the first minute of the summit clash.

Manipur had been steamrolling opponents in the competition – barring a couple of occasions which included a goalless draw against their eventual finalists in Group B of the Quarterfinal League tie – en route the Final and continued their good showing in spite of conceding in the opening exchanges of the title clash.
