Josef Newgarden was recently featured in a Race Service promo for the brand's quarterly "Night School." The two-time IndyCar champ and two-time defending Indy 500 winner was the main guest of the event on Tuesday, December 17.

Race Service is a creative agency and design house that works in the motorsport and automotive sector. In a promo video shared on Instagram ahead of the event, Newgarden pulls up to Night School in a 1992 Chevrolet Corvette and then goes and stands by his Team Penske Indy car. The caption to the post read:

Race Service announced it was collaborating with Josef Newgarden on Instagram, a week before the event that took place at 5126 Venice Blvd. Los Angeles, California. It also shared some glimpses of the prep, involving a photoshoot for Newgarden. As part of the "Night School," experts and icons are invited to take part in interviews and have conversations with guests. The caption of the post read:

"RS NIGHT SCHOOL is excited to welcome x2 IndyCar Series Champion and defending back-to-back Indy 500 winner Josef Newgarden to the stage. Join us on Tuesday December 17th, 6:30pm-10pm as we explore the stories, insights and mindset of a master behind the wheel. Come grab a drink, make new connections and get inspired. The event was hosted by RS team members Andrew Cramb and Rod Chong. During his time at Race Service's headquarters, which is a re-imagined garage, the No.2 Chevy driver also took time to explain the mechanism of his Indy car to the guests.

American musician Misha Mansoor shares a sneak peek of Josef Newgarden explaining his Indy car's prowess at Race Service Night School

American guitarist Misha Mansoor was one of many guests attending the RS Night School. He shared a short video of Josef Newgarden taking the audience through the details of his Indy car. During one segment, the Team Penske driver appreciated the car, saying:

"This thing is very mechanical. It feels natural when you drive it. Like it responds very naturally."

As Newgarden continued to explain the role of roll bar adjustments, weight jackers, dampers, and the dynamic and static weight of the Indy cars like a pro mechanic, host Andrew Cramb asked him if drivers have to "study engineering" or if they learn by driving. Newgarden replied:

"Everybody's different. Most understand, you know, if you're at this level competing, you should understand. There's actually, there are stories, you'd be shocked. There are stories of drivers that... it just goes back to like, you should really understand what you're doing."

Mansoor posted the clip on his Instagram page, writing:

"I’m always a bit blown away by the events that @race.service manages to put on! Here’s @josefnewgarden going through his Indycar in detail!"

In 2024, Josef Newgarden won his second consecutive Indy 500 with a last-lap overtake on Arrow McLaren's Pato O'Ward. At the end of the season, the Tennessee native secured eighth place in the standings with two wins, two poles, and seven Top 5 finishes.
