"I had a great time with both of them" - Jimmie Johnson reflects on Scotland adventure with Scott Dixon and Dario Franchitti

Jimmie Johnson and his wife Chandra Janway joined former IndyCar driver Dario Franchitti and Chip Ganassi driver Scott Dixon to celebrate Thanksgiving together. Johnson, in an exclusive interview with EPARTRADE, reflected on the Thanksgiving vacation with family and friends in Scotland.

The host asked Johnson about his Thanksgiving weekend and hoped his family was doing well in England. The 49-year-old replied,

“We had an awesome Thanksgiving. We started a tradition last year since we moved over for this adventure year, it’s now turned into two. But we went to Scotland. A good friend of ours, Dario Franchitti, insists that we go to Scotland once a year and so the Dixon family, the Franchitti family, and the Johnson family goes.” (1:10 onwards)

“Dario did take an opportunity to buy us kilts and so I’ve now worn a kilt for the last two Thanksgivings and just had a great time with both of them and their families. Just a really special opportunity to be here. Trying to balance some goals that I had after my career and spending more time with my family and living abroad. As that all came about, this opportunity to get into the NASCAR ownership space came around.”

Scott Dixon’s wife Emma Davies Dixon uploaded pictures from the Thanksgiving weekend in Scotland with the three families on Instagram.

In Photos: Jimmie Johnson, Scott Dixon, and Dario Franchitti celebrate Thanksgiving together with their families

Emma Davies uploaded pictures of the joint Thanksgiving celebration on Instagram. The families presumably vacationed at the Gleneagles Hotel in Scotland as it was tagged as the location. It is a five-star hotel in the middle of a valley with mountains in all four directions.

The post was captioned,

“Another Franchitti/Johnson/Dixon Thanksgiving in the books!! I hope that everyone that celebrated had a beautiful day with loved ones.”

The first slide had all the kids from the three families in a restaurant posing for a picture. The next photo was of the wives posing together in the same spot as the kids. Chandra wore a green full-sleeved dress, Eleanor was dressed in a black corset and long black skirt while Emma showcased a Brown dress.

Then came a picture of the three drivers sitting at a dining table dressed in black suits and white shirts. The next couple of pictures were of the kids holding an eagle and candid pictures of the wives. The last few pictures were of the countryside view, the warm aesthetic at the Thanksgiving dinner table, and the kids driving a toy car.

Jimmie Johnson concluded his full-time racing career at the end of the 2022 season. However, he continues to participate part-time in the NASCAR Cup series with Legacy Motor Club.
