Colton Herta recently opened up on the things and activities that take up his time when he's not in his car. Herta, who is 24 years old, finished second in the 2024 IndyCar season. Apart from that, he also drove in the IMSA SportsCar Championship.

Besides racing, Herta is also into a few other things, and he spoke last week about his interests off the track in an interview with James Hinchcliffe.

The young Andretti driver was asked what he does besides driving racecars. Herta revealed that he occasionally plays drums and likes to golf. However, he had a hot take on golf and on those who are good at the sport.

"No one's good (at golf) and if you are good at golf, you have a serious problem because it takes so long to get good, you should probably be doing something better with your time. No, I'm terrible, but I enjoy it, gets you away from everything for a few hours which is nice. I mean, I don't know, I love video games, hanging out with my dogs. I play a game called League of Legends. It's as exactly as nerdy as it sounds. The game's been around for like 15 years" [1:30].

Hinchcliffe then asked the driver for some updates on Colton Herta's band, "The Zibs." The Music City Grand Prix winner revealed that his band is currently going through "a little hiatus" owing to his IndyCar commitments during the season.

Herta further spoke about his band members also having full-time jobs and him being based in California, as he added,

"It's a little hard and we don't make enough money to justify me flying back and forth for band practice every week, unfortunately. So maybe in the future yes we're working on that" [2:20]
