Former Indy NXT driver and three-time W Series champion Jamie Chadwick recently talked about her IndyCar aspirations. She is set to compete in the 2025 European Le Mans Series after two seasons in Indy NXT.
The Williams F1 test driver has been one of the most eminent female drivers in the world of motorsports. A former Andretti Global talent, Chadwick made a name for herself in the W Series, an all-female single-seater racing championship. The British driver won all three seasons of the now-defunct series before moving on to IndyCar's feeder series, Indy NXT in the 2023 season.
Chadwick signed with Andretti Global, scoring a 12th-place finish in her maiden campaign. She returned the following season, emerging victorious in the Grand Prix of Road America, becoming the first female driver to achieve this feat since Pippa Mann in 2010. She also became the first female to win in the Indy NXT Series on a road course.
The 26-year-old participated in a test with Andretti’s IndyCar at Barber Motorsports Park following the conclusion of her second Indy NXT season. In an interview with Andretti Global, following the Barber test, Jamie Chadwick reflected on her ambitions in the IndyCar series. She said:
"Of course my goal is to go up to IndyCar, but I want to be as ready as I can be. I don't want to make up the numbers. I don't want to do it for the sake of doing it. I want to do it because I want to be competitive. And I think giving myself the best opportunity for that."

Speaking about her test at Barber Motorsports Park, Jamie Chadwick added in the same interview:
"There's a reason I wanted to test at Barber, and that was to give myself the best reference on what IndyCar is like at one of the toughest tracks, and I know I need to get stronger if I'm going to be in IndyCar."
Although Chadwick’s ultimate goal remains an IndyCar seat, she has decided to put her immediate aspirations on hold. In a recent social media post, she confirmed that IndyCar is no longer in her “immediate plans.”
Jamie Chadwick is now embarking on a new challenge in endurance racing, joining IDEC Sport for the 2025 European Le Mans Series. She will drive alongside former F1 driver Logan Sargeant and Mathys Jaubert in a team run in collaboration with Genesis Magma Racing.
