IndyCar driver Lindsay Brewer changed gears on Thursday to head from Las Vegas to Doha ahead of F1's Qatar Grand Prix. She had a relaxing yet exciting day ahead of her, including riding ATV bikes in the desert on her itinerary. She is a famous model and racing driver who competed for Juncos Hollinger Racing in the 2024 Indy NXT series, becoming the first American woman to enter the series since Leilani Munter in 2007.

After she landed in Qatar on Thursday morning, Brewer wished her Instagram family of 2.8 million followers a happy Thanksgiving on her story. In the next story from a helipad atop a skyscraper, she wrote:

Known for her modeling work which is loved by millions on social media, Brewer cheered for McLaren at the Las Vegas GP. She was there as a Mastercard ambassador, which partnered with McLaren in July this year. That weekend, she also interviewed Pato O'ward, an Arrow McLaren IndyCar driver and the Woking outfit's F1 reserve driver.

How lack of sponsorships dented Lindsay Brewer's racing career

Lindsay Brewer's karting career began as an accident. At age 10, when she was at a party at a kart track, she outclassed everybody racing there. After her father invested in her newfound passion, the Colorado native won a regional championship the following year. As her racing prowess grew, she rose through the ranks. However, her sponsor pulled out on the eve of a potential USF2000 (the American counterpart to the F2000) debut in 2017.

This gave Brewer a reality check. She took it upon herself to build a personal brand on social media, which would help her get quality sponsorships and progress her racing career. In 2024, Gtechniq and C4 Energy backed her Indy NXT campaign but only to an extent.

The high cost of racing in the series only allowed Brewer to race in eight races out of 14. In an interview with Forbes last week, she explained this dire funding situation that most drivers face.

"This past season, I jumped up to IndyCar, and I did probably ¾ of a season, maybe half a season this year. Most drivers don’t do a full season," she said.

Juncos Hollinger Racing dropped Lindsay Brewer in mid-July, citing contractual obligation problems. She hasn't shared any update on her 2025 racing plans yet.
