Josef Newgarden leads group of five IndyCar drivers at Detroit Auto Show

Josef Newgarden along with four more IndyCar and Indy NXT drivers will be featured at the 2025 Detroit Auto Show, formerly known as the North American International Auto Show. It is arguably the largest auto show in the United States and is held in January.

The 2024 Indy 500 winner will attend the Detroit Auto Show on January 17, 2025, for “Racing Day”, an event organized in collaboration with the Detroit Grand Prix. He will be joined by fellow IndyCar driver David Malukas who drives for A.J. Foyt Racing, Chip Ganassi's Kyffin Simpson, and Indy NXT drivers Nolan Allaer and Callum Hedge who drive for HMD Motorsports and Abel Motorsports respectively.

The Detroit Auto Show will be held at the Huntington Palace from January 10 to 20, 2025. Access to the Atrium area used for the Racing Day activities is available for fans free of cost. The general public show tickets valid from January 11-20 start at $20 for adults, $12 for seniors, and $10 for kids while the Industry Day tickets cost $40 each. The tickets for Charity Preview at the Detroit Auto Show held on January 10 start at $400 each and $700 for a pair.

The drivers will provide rides to fans on the indoor track in production vehicles at 11:00 am and 12:30 pm on Racing Day. Josef Newgarden's Indy 500-winning No. 2 Shell-sponsored Team Penske IndyCar powered by Chevrolet will be on display at the Detroit Auto Show along with a Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R that participated in the GTD class in the IMSA Championship.


Josef Newgarden posts “wild ride” message on social media while reflecting on his 2024 Campaign

Josef Newgarden shared an Instagram post on December 31, 2024, reflecting on the eventful season. The Team Penske driver shared multiple pictures from the year, including some of the most memorable moments for the #2 IndyCar driver.

Newgarden shared pictures from the Race Service photoshoot in Penske overalls, the podium celebrations at the IMSA 24 hours of Daytona as he won with Porsche Penske Motorsport, and from his 2024 Indy 500 win. The caption read:

“2024, you were a wild ride, but we made it through the storm! I'm really excited for 2025, regardless of the forecast. I took that last part from a fortune cookie.”

The 2025 IndyCar season starts on March 2, 2025, with the first race being the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg in Florida.
