Former Indy NXT driver Lindsay Brewer recently shared her Formula 1 experience last year. Brewer enjoyed a trip to the Lusail International Circuit during the 2024 Qatar Grand Prix weekend in November.
Brewer got the opportunity of a lifetime last season when she enjoyed a trip to Doha to watch the Qatar Grand Prix. In a recent Instagram post shared in collaboration with Cosmopolitan Middle East, the 27-year-old revealed some insights of her trip.
On the first day, Brewer explored the city, visiting several notable spots. A significant moment was her interview with Stefano Domenicali, the CEO of Formula 1. Day two saw Brewer venturing into the desert for the first time, where she experienced sand dune buggies.
On the third day, Brewer visited a local souk, indulging in some shopping before heading to a cultural center. Here, she embraced tradition by trying on a stunning green Arabic outfit.
By day four, Brewer found herself at the Lusail International Circuit for the qualifying rounds of the Qatar Grand Prix. The reigning champion Max Verstappen secured pole position. Mercedes driver George Russell joined him on the front row
On the fifth day, she visited the Qatar Racing Club and tried her hand at drifting. Her trip concluded with the action-packed Grand Prix race day, her first live experience at the venue. Max Verstappen eventually emerged victorious, with Charles Leclerc finishing second.
Lindsay Brewer on how social media helped her with sponsorship deals
In a recent interview with Forbes, Lindsay Brewer emphasized on the transformative role social media plays in securing sponsorship deals. Sharing her own personal experience, Brewer revealed that platforms like Instagram have enabled her to attract diverse sponsorship opportunities.
"It's cool, because I'm able to also package in my social media to help leverage that and give potential sponsors more benefits. That's how I was able to get back in the race car as it is, having my public persona and my social media, and being ambassador for brands and sponsors and my team, and for myself," she said.
For Brewer, this has paved the way for collaborations with prominent brands. The 27-year-old is currently working on a racing-focused project that will soon bring her back to Qatar. Here's what she said:
"I’m working with Qatari brand. I’m doing a deal to highlight Formula One, which is obviously the worldwide premiere racing series."
Brewer endured a chaotic period in her racing career last season. After being signed up on a full-time deal with Juncos Hollinger Racing in Indy NXT, the Colorado native found herself without a ride after her contract was terminated in the month of July.
Already coming off a mediocre 2023 campaign in the USF Pro 2000 series, the termination was a significant blow for Brewer. It remains to be seen what the future holds for her racing career.
