Danica Patrick's suffering from a coffee spill burn seems to have ended. The IndyCar legend shared a "Day 19" update of the nasty burn she suffered from the Americano coffee falling on her thigh.
This week, Patrick shared a photo of the healed thigh burn on her Instagram story. Only a remnant pink scar was visible and new skin had developed around it. She captioned the story:
"Also, Starbucks Americano burn update. Day 19 Spent the last 7 days with it covered up using Mepiplex Ag and it sealed it right up! Thanks doctor @brooke_selman 😚
She added,
"Yes, my pants are around my ankles. Relax 😆 "
Mepiplex Ag is an antimicrobial foam dressing for wounds. In previous update shared in the first week after suffering the burn, Danica Patrick had criticized Starbucks for making the water too hot. Her 'Day 6' update, the day of the Thursday press conferences of the F1 Abu Dhabi GP, read:
"Starbucks Americano burn update. Day.... I don't know I'm in Abu Dhabi, 6?! Looking a little better. Silver Cream. And @brooke_selman for being a burn boss. And f u Starbucks. 🤣😩 "
When she first posted about the injury, Patrick put up a poll on her Instagram story asking her 960K followers:
"Anyone else think their hot water is way the hell too hot?"
However, she didn't let the mishap interfere with her professional duties. Patrick, who is the only woman to have won an IndyCar race, continued covering the F1 season-ender for Sky Sports in Abu Dhabi.
Danica Patrick bids an emotional goodbye to F1 in 2024 and anticipates a 'lit' 2025 season
2024 was Danica Patrick's third season working as an analyst/presenter for Sky Sports' F1 arm. She joined the team before the 2021 Austin GP, three years after retiring from racing in NASCAR and IndyCar. This year, she covered 7 out of 24 races, including the season-ending triple header.
Two days after witnessing McLaren lift the constructors' championship on the back of Lando Norris' fourth win of the season, Patrick shared a few photos from the weekend and penned a short but beautiful message on X(formerly Twitter) to conclude her 2024 F1 stint. She wrote:
"What a fun year to be reporting on F1 and be at the last race in Abu Dhabi! So many winners and so many story lines! 2025 is going to be lit! Most of all… I love my sky sports crew. They make work fun and are also incredibly talented and I learn from them every weekend!"
After the race on Sunday, Patrick predicted her championship contenders for 2025 in the Sky Sports broadcast. Her predictions were that McLaren will take the constructors' championship for a second consecutive time and Lando Norris will lift his maiden drivers' championship trophy.
