With the IndyCar offseason and holiday spirit setting in, Pato O'Ward is vacationing with his family. The Arrow McLaren driver was recently part of a hilarious 'bet' with his sister Elba O'Ward de Kimbro.
Elba posted an Instagram story from their holiday where Pato was showing off a tanning product by Ligne St Barth - the ROUCOU Tanning Oil SPF 50. He used the words "top of the top, crème de la crème" to describe it, but his older sister wasn't convinced. On her story, she put up a poll and wrote:
"okay besties place your bets:"
The headline of the poll read "Pato Sale del Viaje..." (which translates to "Pato leaves the trip...") and the options were 'Quemado' (Burnt) or 'Con colorzas' (which literally translates to 'with colors' or in this case, 'with a tan'). She further wrote:
"besties serious question: do we think he's gonna burn or tan?"
Pato O'Ward reposted Elba's story and naturally went with the 'tan' option. He wrote:
"Por Supuesto colorzassss," which translates to "of course colors" [translated by Google]
Elba also posted more updates from her Mexico holiday, including a photo of her vacation wardrobe. In the first week of December, she celebrated her first marriage anniversary with her husband, Brett Michael Kimbro.
When Pato O'Ward celebrated sister Elba's wedding
Elba married her boyfriend of five years, Brett Michael Kimbro, on December 2, 2023. The couple first met at Southern Methodist University in 2017. Pato O'Ward congratulated the couple on their wedding and heartily welcomed his brother-in-law to the family.
Pato posted some beautiful photos from the big day on Instagram and captioned it:
"The new bride❤️ Congratulations @elbaoward and welcome to the family (officially) @brettkimbro . We are now brothers wether you like it or not😊 One step closer to the wedding in December. Cheers to forever 🥂"
Elba and Brett, who wanted an old-fashioned romantic wedding, tied the knot in Monterrey in December. As per Vogue, the reception was held in the Escuela Superior de Música y Danza de Monterrey (ESMDM), a French Romantic and Gothic-style building. The venue was adorned with more than 700 candles, 6,500 white roses, and 400 orchids, the last of which was Elba's paternal grandmother's favorite flower.
On the racing front, Pato O'Ward had an impressive 2024 IndyCar season. He took three victories with Arrow McLaren and finished fifth in the championship standings with 460 points. McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown also handed him two F1 tests to partially fulfill his dream of driving in F1.
