Scott McLaughlin's wife recently attended NASCAR driver Ryan Blaney and Gianna Tulio's wedding. The 2023 Cup Series Champion tied the knot with his model girlfriend of three-plus years on December 12.
Blaney and Tulio got engaged after the 2023 NASCAR offseason. On the heels of his maiden Cup Series Championship, the Team Penske driver popped the question on December 12, a special date that matches his racing number, 12. They also set the wedding for the same date.
Scott Mclaughlin's wife, Karly, was among the guests. She shared ESPN sideline reporter Ashley Stroehlein's Instagram story, drawing a heart under the photo. The photo featured a few guests at the wedding, including Karly.
In March this year, Ryan Blaney spoke to NASCAR reporter Bob Pockrass about the couple's wedding planning starting a day after they got engaged. He said,
"I’m learning how much work goes into wedding planning. It’s a lot. Yeah, picking the venue out was good, that took a lot of weight off our shoulders, Gianna and I. I try to just give her the reigns on everything, just do it you’ve got full control of this, but she wants to include me in a lot of it, which is like alright, that’s fine. But I usually just agree with her. She’ll be like ‘What do you think about this?’ and then I’ll just ask her ‘Well, what do you think?’ and then I’ll just agree with whatever she says."
Though McLaughlin wasn't seen in the wedding day photos, Blaney's friendly rival from 23XI Racing, Bubba Wallace, was present and well. He shared an Instagram post with a few drivers having a drink indoors, and his caption highlighted the number 12. He wrote:
"Opened the 12, for the 12, on the 12th, of the 12th, in the 12th. Cheers to the 12!"
Giana Tulio shared a series of photos on her Instagram stories from the wedding day party at Jerome Hotel in Aspen, Colorado.
When Scott McLaughlin lauded Ryan Blaney on his Cup Series championship
Scott McLaughlin and Ryan Blaney drive for the same team, Team Penske, but in different categories. In November 2023, the No. 3 Chevy IndyCar driver attended the NASCAR season finale at the Phoenix Raceway to witness his NASCAR counterpart lift the Cup Series trophy.
Though Blaney couldn't steal the race lead from Ross Chastain, who put up a solid defense, a second-place finish ensured he finished one point ahead of championship contender Kyle Lason. Post-race, Scott McLaughlin heartily lauded Blaney for his heroic effort. He said:
"I'm so, so proud of him as a friend and as a teammate...the utmost respect. I know how hard he's worked for it. I'm super proud. I was in the family and friends box. It was pretty stressful the last 10 laps, but he had an absolute piece. His car was unreal, and he just drove the wheels of it which is exactly what you need. He's a wheelman... and really proud of him."
Since then, they have only grown closer. In the first week of December this year, Blaney's partner Gianna Tulio also visited the McLaughlin household, where she spent time with their two-month-old daughter, Lucy.
In 2024, Blaney finished runner-up in the NASCAR Cup Series standings while his teammate Joey Logano took the ultimate prize home. Meanwhile, three-time Supercars champion, McLaughlin, finished a career-best third, matching his 2023 finish, in the IndyCar standings with three wins.
