“Slowly getting the hang of it”: Scott Dixon's wife Emma Davies flexes their son's ‘two wheel’ prowess

IndyCar driver Scott Dixon's wife uploaded multiple stories on Instagram on January 2, 2025, showcasing their son Kit’s progress on motorcycles. Emma Davies shared four videos of the five-year-old practicing on dirt bikes in lush greens.

The first video was of Kit trying to start the dirt bike as it had a hand-pulling mechanism usually found on smaller cc bikes. He couldn't and asked his mom for help, who got it started:

“Can you do this? It's pretty hard to do. Can you do it?”

The next couple of stories were videos of Scott Dixon's son riding the dirt bike around the field. The second was of him getting on and starting practice and the third was of him far away on the other end of the field. The last story was of Kit completing a whole round, stopping next to Davies to detail his run, and asking for advice about the next run. After a small conversation, he was off again for more practice.

The motorcycle in the video seemed to be a 50cc dirt bike designed for kids to start their two-wheel journey with a max speed of 30 mph and a simple air-cooled two-stroke engine. Davies previously uploaded photos of her son practicing quad dirt bikes.

Scott Dixon drives for Chip Ganassi Racing in the IndyCar series. His wife, Emma Davies, is an International and British 800m champion. They have three children, the youngest Kit, and two daughters, Poppy and Tilly.

Emma Davies on how she met Scott Dixon

A mutual friend set up Emma Davies and Scott Dixon's first meeting. However, the date didn't go well and it was only after their second date that things started moving romantically between them.

Davies said in April 2016 (via IndyCar):

“It goes quite far back, my and Scott’s story. We met through a mutual friend. He was quiet. He was this super-shy guy and I wasn’t very friendly.”

The second date was in March 2006 when Dixon was visiting London and Davies worked as a presenter for Sky.

“I could tell he’d had some Dutch courage. He had a little red wine smile. We just really connected. My friend literally left me. She said, ‘I’m going to leave you to it.’ We were getting on that well. We were smitten after the second day,” she added

The two got engaged later that year in December 2006 and married in February 2008. In 2009, Davies gave birth to their firstborn Poppy.
