Arrow McLaren's Pato O'Ward recently teamed up with UFC star and his compatriot, Brandon Moreno in Las Vegas. The IndyCar driver is coming off the best season of his career in terms of number of wins.

In 2024, O'Ward finished in first place on three occasions, at St. Petersberg, Mid-Ohio, and Milwaukee. Before this, the most wins O'Ward had in one season were two, each in 2022 and 2021.

In off-the-track adventures, O'Ward recently teamed up with Moreno, a former 2x UFC Flyweight Champion, while also being the first fighter from Mexico to have won a UFC championship.

In the video, which Arrow McLaren posted on their social media, O'Ward said of Moreno:

"What's up everyone? This guy needs no introduction. We've come to visit Brandon here in Las Vegas. He's taught me a couple of moves, shown me how to do the lock, and finish the job. But thank you for having me. Now I need to bring you out for a race."

In his response, Moreno admitted that they have to bring him to an IndyCar race, teasing an upcoming second part of this collaboration, while also wishing his fellow Mexican the best in his career.

Pato O'Ward extended his contract with Arrow McLaren earlier this year

Earlier this year, Arrow McLaren announced that Pato O'Ward would remain a part of their team in the future after signing a multi-year extension on his contract. He first joined the team in 2020 and will complete six years with the Papaya team in 2025.

It's worth mentioning that O'Ward would earn $4 million from his new extension in 2026, $4.2 million in 2027, and an additional $2 million bonus which comes from his previous deal which he signed in 2022.

Following the announcement of his extension, O'Ward clarified all the rumors surrounding his future with Arrow McLaren.

"I’ve been seeing some news roaming around social media, and I’m here to confirm I’ll be sporting these papaya colors for a few more years. It’s really been a home for me. I’m focused and determined to win championships, win races, win Indy 500s with this wonderful group of people. I want to thank (team CEO) Zak (Brown), (team principal) Gavin (Brown), our amazing partners that truly allow us to do what we love day in, day out and go play race cars," Pato O'Ward said.

Interestingly, along with being the star driver in Arrow McLaren's IndyCar team, O'Ward is also the reserve driver for McLaren's F1 team having earned his FIA Super License in 2023.

Pato O'Ward drove in front of his home fans in one of the practice sessions ahead of the Mexican GP last month.
