The Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) has emerged as one of India's premier sports leagues since its inception in 2014, showcasing thrilling matches and exceptional talents. As the 11th season begins on October 18 in Hyderabad, teams are leaving no stone unturned in their quest for glory.

While some franchises have consistently performed well, others have struggled to find their footing. Among these are three teams that have faced a disappointing fate in recent times, failing to secure a playoff spot in the last three seasons.

In this article, we look into the unfortunate journeys of the Telugu Titans, Bengal Warriorz and U Mumba in the last three seasons. Despite their rich histories and strong fan bases, these teams have endured tough times on the mat, making the upcoming season all the more crucial for their redemption.

Here is a closer look at these three franchises that have been unable to reach the playoffs in PKL Seasons 8, 9, and 10.

3 teams that have not reached the playoffs in the last three seasons of Pro Kabaddi League

#1 Telugu Titans

The Telugu Titans have had a dismal run in the Pro Kabaddi League over the past six seasons, with their last playoff appearance coming way back in Season 4. Their performance in the last three seasons has been particularly concerning. In PKL 8, the Titans managed to secure only one win out of 22 matches, finishing at the bottom of the points table.

Things did not improve in PKL 9 and PKL 10 either, as the team again struggled, winning only two matches in each season and finishing in last place. With a total of just five wins across three seasons, the Titans will be desperate to turn the tide in Season 11 and put up an improved performance.

#2 Bengal Warriorz

Once a Pro Kabaddi League champion, the Bengal Warriorz have faced a rapid decline since winning the PKL Season 7 trophy. Their inability to reach the playoffs in the subsequent seasons is a stark contrast to their previous success. In PKL 8, the Warriorz secured nine wins out of 22 matches but only managed to finish ninth on the points table.

The next season, PKL 9, proved to be even more challenging, with the team slipping to 11th place after winning just eight matches. Although Bengal Warriorz showed signs of improvement in PKL 10 by winning nine matches, they still fell short of the playoffs, finishing in seventh position. The Warriorz will aim to bounce back in the upcoming season and reclaim their past glory.

#3 U Mumba

U Mumba, a team that once reigned supreme, having clinched the title in Pro Kabaddi League Season 2, has witnessed a dramatic decline over the years. In PKL 8, U Mumba finished 10th with a record of seven wins, indicating a worrying trend for a franchise that was once considered a powerhouse.

The following season, PKL 9, saw a slight improvement with 10 wins, yet it was insufficient to secure a playoff berth, placing them ninth on the points table. In PKL 10, U Mumba faced further struggles, finishing in the 10th position with just six wins. This prolonged struggle has raised concerns about the team’s future, making the upcoming season critical for U Mumba as they seek to return to being a competitive unit in the Pro Kabaddi League.
