The Indian men and women kabaddi teams began their 17th Asian Games campaign with victories - both winning against Bangladesh - in their preliminary round matches here Sunday.

The men's team defeated Bangladesh 30-15 in their opening round Group A match at the Songdo Global University Gymnasium. They built up a big lead of 10 points in the first half, winning it 16-6 and stretched their dominance in the second session, clinching it 14-9. India take on Thailand in their next group match Monday.

The women's team won 29-18 against Bangladesh in their opener. They raced to a big lead at the beginning, claiming the first half 22-5. And even though they lost the second session 7-13, their initial lead was enough to seal victory. They next face South Korea Tuesday.
