The Bengal Warriorz (BEN) and the Haryana Steelers (HAR) go head-to-head in the 31st match of Pro Kabaddi 2024 on Sunday, November 3, at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad.
The Warriorz played their hearts out in what will be regarded as one of the best-ever PKL matches against the Puneri Paltan, making a comeback for the ages in a match that finished in a 32-32 tie. Fazel Atrachali got to a historic landmark, becoming the first defender to score 500 tackle points in the PKL.
The Steelers also had a close shave in their last outing against the Yoddhas, winning 30-28, courtesy some strong raiding from Vinay and a first half High 5 from right cover defender Sanjay.
With both teams comprising some big names and having plenty of firepower, this should be a cracking contest.
Let's now look at the top three Dream11 surprise picks in this match.
#3 Naveen (ALL) (HAR) (9.5 Credits)
At only 9.5 Credits, Haryana Steelers' third raider and utility player Naveen could be a very handy Dream11 options for most teams. The right raider has scored 12 points in four matches this season, with six each in raid and defense.
While it's almost always Shivam Patare and Vinay when they're on the mat, Naveen has proved himself to be a decent raider whenever he has gotten the opportunity. Even more, his timing of the tackle is simply excellent, and he could well be converted into a defending all-rounder by the time this season ends.
Considering that he has outscored players like Nitin Kumar and Maninder Singh so far, Naveen is a bonafide Dream11 surprise pick to consider.
#2 Jaideep Dahiya (DEF) (HAR) (14.5 Credits)
Haryana Steelers' captain Jaideep Dahiya could be found in most teams prior to their match against the Yoddhas since he scored a High 5 in his very first match of the season against Dabang Delhi KC. However, his fellow cover defender Sanjay's outstanding performance against the Yoddhas has stolen Jaideep's thunder, allowing him to slip under the radar, presenting a great opportunity for his Dream11 backers.
The left cover defender could find himself deputizing in the left corner quite often, with Mohammadreza Shadloui making plenty of errors and not enjoying the best of starts to the season. The experienced Jaideep has scored 122 tackle points in 44 matches across the last two seasons, and is due another big haul.
He's a Dream11 differential with a very high points ceiling.
#1 Maninder Singh (RAI) (BEN) (15 Credits)
One would hardly think that this is possible, but it is. Maninder Singh's Dream11 ownership has reached differential territory after some lackluster performances to start the season. The former Bengal captain has scored 25 raid points in four matches, and while those are decent by most standards, Maninder is a different beast, and he'd want to do more.
A lack of enough touch points and all-outs suffered by the Warriorz may have contributed to his low Dream11 output so far, but for a player like Maninder, that could change in a flash.
He's the second-highest point-scorer in PKL history, with 1467 points in 147 matches. With those kinds of numbers behind him, he's always a good Dream11 pick.
