In their last match at home, the Bengal Warriors will lock horns against the Dabangs from Delhi at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Indoor Stadium in Kolkata.
The teams are coming into this encounter off contrasting results from the matches they played last night. While Dabang Delhi staged a comeback against the Bengaluru Bulls and went on to win the match, the Bengal Warriors succumbed to a defeat against Anup Kumar's U Mumba.
The Warriors have now lost two matches in a row in their own backyard and will be desperate to notch up a win in the last fixture to end the home leg on a high note. Maninder Singh, who has been in stellar form with a couple of consecutive Super-10's against his name in the last two games will again spearhead the attack of the side
He will be assisted in attack by Jang Kun Lee who has been inconsistent and needs to play a larger role and all-rounder Vinod Kumar who will be responsible for bailing the team in do-or-die situations. The defence of the side has two strong and experienced campaigners manning the right cover and left corner position in the likes of skipper Surjeet and Ran Singh respectively.
The only aspect where the Warriors falter in a big way is the last two players, for none of Srikanth Tewthia, Shashank Wankhede, Rahul Kumar or Bhupinder seem to fit the bill.
Dabang Delhi, on the other hand, has been bolstered majorly due to the form of the Iranian imports, captain Meraj Sheykh and the tall, lanky raider Abolfazl Maghsoudlou who picked up 22 points amongst them in the last match against the Bengaluru Bulls. Rohit Baliyan played an effective role in the third raider capacity making the cut to the starting lineup in place of Ravi Dalal.
The defence is a major concern for this side for the coordination does not seem to come to the fore and the four defenders in the likes of Nilesh Shinde, Bajirao Hodage, Sunil and Viraj Landge are hardly able to inflict any tackles, in fact amongst them, they just picked up three points last night which is dismal, to say the least.
Bengal Warriors vs Dabang Delhi match prediction
The Bengal Warriors should definitely cash in on the weak link of Dabang Delhi which is their defence with effective strides from Maninder and Jang Kun Lee to keep the scoreboard ticking while on the other shore if the Bengal defence manages to keep the Iranians of Delhi quite, they can go on to win this match quite comfortably.
Thus, it is the Warriors who have the upper hand in this fixture.
