LIVE COMMENTARY: Bengal Warriors vs UP Yoddha, 02 September 2017
In today's encounter, both teams are coming into the match on the back of wins, while Bengal Warriors defeated the defending champions Patna Pirates last night, UP Yoddha have had a long break post their win over the Telugu Titans in their last home match at Lucknow.
The Bengal Warriors look like one cohesive unit and will bank on their raiders, particularly comeback man, Maninder Singh who scored 13 points last night and Korean import, Jang Kun Lee to keep the scoreboard ticking. The defensive trio of Surjeet, Ran Singh and Srikanth Tewthia will have to play a larger role in putting forth a formidable wall against the UP attack.
Rahul Kumar who committed a host of errors in the last and gave away valuable points will have to either buck up or be replaced by someone on the bench. The availability of Deepak Narwal is still a doubt due to injury concerns and thus Vinod Kumar will play a vital role in the capacity of an all-rounder.
The UP Yoddha, on the other hand, will largely bank on their raiding duo of Rishank Devadiga and Nitin Tomar to spearhead the attack. The defence will be guided by the experienced campaigner, Jeeva Kumar who will be assisted by the likes of Nitesh Kumar, who picked up a High-5 in the last match and Sagar Krishna who has cemented his place as a corner defender.
All-rounder Rajesh Narwal has been given umpteen number of opportunities to showcase his mettle but has failed to prove a major point and will look to do that today. As for the third choice raider, UP have an option to either go with Surender Singh or Mahesh Goud.
Bengal Warriors vs UP Yoddha match prediction
The match would tilt in favour of the Warriors majorly because they look like a formidable unit who will be high on confidence post their win last night and look to carry forth the same momentum against the UP Yoddha. The key for Bengal will be to relegate the likes of Rishank and Nitin to the bench for a major amount of time to put a break on the scoreline from their end.
