The 13th match of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) season beckons and it promises to be a thrilling clash between the Bengal Warriorz and the UP Yoddhas. The two teams will be on the mat at 8 PM tonight (Thursday, October 24) at the Gachibowli Stadium in Hyderabad.
The Warriorz and the Yoddhas have had drastically opposite starts to their seasons, and tonight, the former will be looking to get their first victory of the year, while the latter look to keep alive their winning streak.
Bengal came into season 11 with a handful of changes to their team, which included giving captainship to defender Fazel Atrachali. However, the move is yet to pay off. In their debut match against the Jaipur Pink Panthers, the side went down 34-39, with Atrachali failing to get the support he needed on the defense.
The Warriorz did have a strong offense in their clash against the Panthers, with former captain Maninder Singh scoring eight points, while Nitin Dhankhar scored 14.
On the other hand, the UP Yoddhas have been phenomenal this PKL season. They opened their campaign with a 28-23 win over Dabang Delhi KC. The match saw Bhavani Rajput
and Surender Gill led the team in raid points, while Sahul Kumar held down the house in defense.
After their encounters with Delhi, the Yoddhas went on to battle the Bengaluru Bulls, a match they dominated. The team claimed a 57-36 win, with captain Gill and his 17 raid points stealing the show. Also impressive was all-rounder Bharat, who scored a whopping 14b points.
PKL 2024: Bengal Warriorz vs UP Yoddhas prediction
Their upcoming clash in PKL will mark the Bangal Warriorz and UP Yoddhas’ 15th time facing each other in the league. In their previous encounters, Bengal won five matches, UP won four, while the remaining five ended in a tie.
Given the two teams’ form this season, the Yoddhas look likely to keep their winning streak alive.
