The Bengaluru Bulls emerged victorious against the Telugu Titans with a convincing 35-21 scoreline. In this titanic clash between the two heavyweights, the Bulls overpowered the Titans aided by Manjeet Chhillar’s defensive effort and Ajay Thakur’s mazy raids.
The youthful Telugu Titans won the first point of the match through Rahul Chaudhari and Deepak Nivas Hudda came back successful in the next raid as the Titans led 2-0 in the second minute. The Bulls, not only levelled the score but ended up taking the lead 7-4 after 11 minutes in the half.
However, Prashant Rai showed his quality and got his team on level terms with the score at 7-7 in just three minutes. The Titans ended up leading 9-8 and had a good chance to inflict an all out on their opponents when the Bulls had just 2 defenders – Somvir Shekhar and Preetam Chhillar, left.
The 2 Bengaluru Bulls youngsters defied their age and did not rush into anything hasty, but rallied on to help their side end the half in the lead, 12-9. Randhir Singh would be proud of the effort of his team’s efforts as they stopped the Titans, who have lost just once this season, marvellously. The second youngest player in the league, 18-year-old Sandeep played spectacularly for the team from Hyderabad.
Two all outs in the second half
The Bulls did not take a lot of time to inflict an all out on the Telugu Titans. After getting Rajaguru Subramanian out in the 23rd minute, the Bulls completed the all out in the next raid to extend their lead to 18-10. After the revival, both the teams exchanged points for the next 5 minutes.
The Telugu Titans reduced the deficit to just 5 points in the 32nd minute, but that was as close as they got as the Bulls tightened at the back and did not rush in their raids. By the 35th minute, the team from Karnataka were leading 26-17 as Randhir Singh called a timeout.
The Manjeet Chhillar-led side ensured they held on for the win and did not let the Titans take a single point as they sealed a 35-21 win courtesy of a buzzer raid all out. Ajay Thakur’s raids in the second half and Manjeet Chhillar’s defensive performance, which won him 8 tackle points, helped the Bulls beat the Titans.
