On the second day of the Ranchi leg of Pro Kabaddi League Season 5, the Bengaluru Bulls will lock horns against the Telugu Titans in the South Indian derby at the Harivansh Tana Bhagat Indoor Stadium. The two teams have met twice earlier in the season, with the first match ending in favour of the Bengaluru Bulls while in the second fixture the result was a tie, with both teams taking away three points.
The Bulls are coming into this match on the back of a win against the Puneri Paltan while the Telugu Titans suffered a big loss last night against the defending champions, Patna Pirates.
Bengaluru look like a balanced unit with a good mixture of youth and experience that takes to the mat. Skipper Rohit Kumar initially did the bulk of the scoring but since rivals have found a way to restrict his charge in the recent matches, quite a few players have come to the fore. Ajay plays a greater role in the attack not only as the second-in-charge behind Rohit but also with his ability to thrive in the do-or-die raids.
Sunil Jaipal, the all-rounder has been stellar in the last few matches, while Ravinder Pahal is set to make his way back into the side post a two-match suspension. The young defenders in the likes of Mahender and Kuldeep form a potent combination and were particularly lethal with their tackles in the last match.
The Telugu Titans, on the other hand, just could not find a way to get past the Patna Pirates, especially with both the rival raiders Pardeep and Monu amassing yet another Super-10 against a defence that faltered for the Titans.
The trio of Vishal Bhardwaj, Sombir and Rohit Rana were not up to the mark, only picking up a total of six tackle points amongst themselves. Somewhere, their own raiders, starting with Rahul Chaudhari and then Nilesh Salunkhe, Mohsen Maghsoudlou also were not at their best as they fell prey to the Patna defence time and again. Thus, the Titans need to pull up their socks and approach this match against the Bulls tonight with renewed vigour and energy.
Bengaluru Bulls vs Telugu Titans match prediction
The Bengaluru Bulls have the upper hand in this match, primarily due to the fact that they have given a couple of instances in the recent matches that they can put up an all-round performance and do not solely rely on Rohit Kumar.
Their defence is also in roaring form and thus the Titans will have to pull a rabbit out of their hat to change the course of the proceedings in their favour.
