Having the worst score difference in Zone A is not a statistic that is boast-worthy. It's only going to get worse for Dabang Delhi and yesterday's match against Puneri Paltan proved just that.
Leading by a handsome margin, it looked like an upset was on the cards. Delhi looked quick, confident and determined. However, all those traits vanished into thin air within the space of five minutes.
Their defence crumbled and with that their hopes for a playoff spot crumbled as well. The capital side will now play for honour but even that won't come easy. Tonight they will be up against an extremely talented team in Haryana Steelers.
Currently placed second in the points table in Zone A, Haryana are by no means assured of a playoff spot. Yet they look good to make it through. But with the likes of U Mumba and Jaipur Pink Panthers on their heels, Haryana will have to win tonight's game.
In their last outing against Jaipur, the Steelers showed that they have immense depth in their squad. The coach decided to introduce some new faces who did well to earn the trust of the coach with a well-deserved victory.
Right now everything seems to be clicking for Haryana however with games coming in thick and fast, it can all goo left within a matter of days. Hence it is imperative that Surender Nada keeps his team in check and motivated at all times.
Haryana have enough quality in attack to cause trouble to Delhi's defence. But Delhi's raiders have looked good as well. Unfortunately for the capital side, their defenders have not been up to the mark.
If they slack off tonight, Haryana will show no mercy and could easily dismantle them within a matter of minutes. Haryana need this win as much as Delhi
Dabang Delhi vs Haryana Steelers match prediction
Haryana will no doubt start as unanimous favourites in this tie. This one could get extremely ugly for Delhi. To make matters worse, they are playing in front of their home crowd. The Steelers realize a win at this stage of the tournament is vital.
Delhi, on the other hand, must deliver something, if not for themselves they ought to do something for their vociferous home fans who have turned up in good numbers at the stadium. If all goes to plan, Haryana should easily win this tie.
