The Gujarat Giants (GUJ) and the Patna Pirates (PAT) face off in the 47th match of Pro Kabaddi 2024 on Monday, November 11, at the Noida Indoor Stadium.
The Giants have been in dismal form this season, and they've lost six games in a row coming into this one. That includes back-to-back defeats at the hands of the Haryana Steelers, both of them by significant margins.
Meanwhile, the Pirates have caught the PKL fraternity's attention with their exciting kabaddi brand, and find themselves in seventh place on the points table after a close win over the Jaipur Pink Panthers. They could move up to third with a win against the Giants.
Let's now look at the top three Dream11 surprise picks for this one.
#3 Arkam Shaikh (ALL) (PAT) (12 Credits)
The Pirates didn't have left cover Gurdeep in the matchday squad in their last outing, and that's why Arkam Shaikh is likely to hold on to his spot in the starting 7 ahead of the Pirates' meeting with the Gujarat Giants. Arkam made his PKL debut playing for the Gujarat Giants, and the all-rounder has emerged as a handy utility player for the Pirates.
The left cover position is a very productive one in a Dream11 team when you're playing against the Gujarat Giants, given their good collection of left-raiders. Arkam has a really strong block in him, and if he gets a couple right, he could be on for a solid Dream11 haul in this match.
#2 Navdeep (DEF) (PAT) (11.5 Credits)
Patna Pirates' defender Navdeep could be a handy Dream11 differential pick for this match.
Much like Nitesh Kumar from the Tamil Thalaivas, Navdeep started the match as a specialist defender playing in the left in position, occupying pretty much every position in defense depending on the number of players on the mat for the Pirates, including deputizing in both covers and corners.
He seems very assured and confident with his tackling, and picked up four crucial tackle points against the Jaipur Pink Panthers. At 11.5 credits, he offers great value and could be a solid Dream11 surprise pick.
#1 Parteek Dahiya (ALL) (GUJ) (14 Credits)
It's high time that the Gujarat Giants' senior players step up and start delivering this season, and top of that list is Parteek Dahiya. Slated to be one of their lead raiders, the technically gifted raiding all-rounder has struggled this season, scoring only 22 points in seven matches.
However, his record in the PKL suggests that he's far better than his metrics so far this season. He amassed a whopping 324 points across the last two seasons, and if he can get 7-8 raid points and a couple of handy tackle points in today's match, it could really get him going this season.
A very popular pick at the start of the season, Parteek's non-performances have seen his ownership level dip, but he has a very high points ceiling and could deliver the returns in this one.
