The Jaipur Pink Panthers (JAI) and the Puneri Paltan (PUN) face off in the 60th match of Pro Kabaddi 2024 on Sunday, November 17, at the Noida Indoor Stadium.
Jaipur have returned to form with back-to-back victories coming into this game, picking up a hard-fought 32-24 win over the Gujarat Giants, with Reza Mirbagheri's explosive defensive performance aiding Arjun Deshwal and Neeraj Narwal's raiding efforts.
The Puneri Paltan could move to the top of the points table with a win in this match, but they have faced a bit of an inquest, tying and losing one of their last two matches. Their last match was a frustrating 38-38 tie against Dabang Delhi KC, and they'll want to be more clinical this time around.
On that note, here are the top three Dream11 surprise picks for this fixture.
#3 Lucky Sharma (DEF) (JAI)
Jaipur Pink Panthers' right corner Lucky Sharma has seen a dip in his ownership courtesy of the other quality options available for selection going into this fixture. While not on par with the defensive performance of some of his team members, his performance of 16 tackle points in seven matches is a pretty decent number for a player who was only a bench option last season.
He'll have opportunities to go up against left raiders like Akash Shinde and V Ajith Kumar and initiate tackles. With his six tackle point haul against the Bengaluru Bulls not long ago, he could be a useful Dream11 pick.
#2 Surjeet Singh (DEF) (JAI)
One of the best right covers in PKL history, Surjeet Singh has filled the void left by ex-captain Sunil Kumar in the Jaipur starting 7 despite a slow start to the season. With 20 tackle points in nine matches, Surjeet has done pretty well, with those numbers great for a cover defender.
His pedigree in the league speaks for itself as he's the second-highest point-scoring defender in PKL history with 424 tackle points in 157 matches. In his only start against the Haryana Steelers last season, Surjeet scored a High 5, and it'll be interesting to see if he can do the same here.
It's surprising to see his ownership drop to around 20%, and he'll certainly be a powerful differential pick.
#1 Pankaj Mohite (RAI) (PUN)
Pankaj Mohite has stepped up well whenever required as the captain of the Puneri Paltan, and will now look to lead his side's title defense for the rest of the season. The raider, who's also capable of putting in some handy tackles in defense, hasn't played to his full potential so far this season.
With 43 points in nine games so far, he'll look to improve on that number, and this game against a robust Jaipur defense will be a great time for him to do the same. A player with a very high points ceiling, Pankaj Mohite could be a powerful Dream11 surprise option.
