Former Pro Kabaddi League star Rahul Chaudhari has exposed how the tournament's coaches have a 'setting' with players to get them into their teams. As per Rahul, the coaches take up to 50% of the salary of some players and sign them at the auction.

During an appearance on the Sagar Sinha Show, Rahul Chaudhari shared some unknown secrets of the Pro Kabaddi League. The 11th edition of the tournament is underway right now, and Rahul announced his retirement this year after going unsold at the auction.

Rahul disclosed that the auction has become like a game for coaches now. According to the former Telugu Titans star, a coach may even sign an out-of-form player if he has a close relation with him or if the player agrees to give half his contract amount to the coach.

"It has become a game of coaches. You go to the coach, bow down to them, fall at their feet or keep a condition that you give your 50% contract amount to the coach, so there's a chance you may get selected. Coach is the final boss. Whoever he wants in the team, he picks that player," Rahul said.
"There are some players, who never go unsold in the auction even though they have scored just two or four points in the last six seasons," he added without taking any names.

In the same show, Rahul alleged that some current coaches, who were players in the league initially, were jealous that Rahul became the poster boy. Hence, they did not bid for him at the auctions.

"I don't know why he did that" - Rahul Chaudhari takes a shot at former Puneri Paltan coach Anup Kumar

Anup Kumar was Puneri Paltan's head coach when the team signed Rahul Chaudhari for PKL season eight. Without taking Anup's name, Rahul said he still does not know why he was benched although he was the number one raider.

"Coaches have a huge role. I was the top raider till season six, even in season seven, I think I was still the number one, but in season eight, I did not get to play. I was benched by the coach. I don't know why he did that," Rahul said.

Rahul then gave an example of how Sanjeev Baliyan did not use him properly at Jaipur Pink Panthers although he was among the best raiders at the National Games.

"Then came season nine, I played three-four matches. I would get to raid thrice per match. Remember that I was the best raider in National Games at that time and I won the gold medal. I feel somewhere there has been injustice towards me from the coaches," Rahul concluded.

Rahul Chaudhari signed off saying he will continue proving the PKL coaches wrong by performing well in the National Games and international kabaddi. He is currently working as a commentator for Star Sports in PKL 11.
