Bengal Warriorz captain Fazel Atrachali has become the first defender to touch the milestone of 500 tackle points in Pro Kabaddi League history. Atrachali accomplished the feat in the ongoing PKL 2024 match against Puneri Paltan at the GMCB Indoor Stadium on Tuesday (October 29).
Fazel Atrachali has been the most successful defender in Pro Kabaddi League history for a long time. He entered the match against Puneri Paltan with 497 tackle points to his name, and completed 500 tackle points in the first half itself.
First, Atrachali executed a super tackle with a fantastic dash to floor Puneri Paltan skipper Aslam Inamdar. Next, in a do-or-die raid for Pune, Atrachal tried for an ankle hold on Mohit Goyat. Although he could not grip it perfectly, his efforts were enough to break Goyat's momentum.
The right side of the defense pounced on Goyat and stopped him in Bengal's half. Since Atrachali had the first touch on Goyat, he received the tackle point, taking his total to 500.
The entire audience at the GMCB Indoor Stadium and the Bengal Warriorz coaching staff gave a standing ovation to Atrachali when the big screen read that he had scored his 500th tackle point in PKL.
Rishank Devadiga made an accurate prediction about Fazel Atrachali's 500th tackle point in PKL
Atrachali's former U Mumba teammate Rishank Devadiga is currently working as a Hindi commentator in the Pro Kabaddi League. Before Bengal Warriorz's match against Puneri Paltan started, Devadiga predicted that Atrachali would score his 500th tackle point by tackling down Mohit Goyat.
While Atrachali needed his team's support to hunt down Goyat, he did indeed score his 500th tackle point by tackling the Puneri Paltan all-rounder. Devadiga was on commentary when Atrachali touched the milestone, and the other commentators in the box mentioned how the former U Mumba star had made an accurate prediction.
