Pro Kabaddi 2024: What happened during the last meeting between Dabang Delhi KC and Patna Pirates?

Dabang Delhi KC will be up against Patna Pirates in the Semi-final 2 of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) 2024 on Friday, December 27, at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Balewadi in Pune.

Dabang Delhi KC secured their spot in Semi-final 2 by finishing second in the points table with 13 wins, five losses, and four ties. They entered the playoffs with momentum, following a commanding 45-31 victory over the Gujarat Giants. Ashu Malik shone in the raiding department with 14 points, while Ashish N showcased an all-round effort, contributing four raid points and three tackle points.

On the other hand, the Patna Pirates finished fourth, tallying 13 wins, seven losses, and two ties to qualify for the playoffs. They clinched their semi-final berth with a 31-23 win over U Mumba in Eliminator 2 on Thursday.

Last season, these two teams met in the Eliminator, where Patna narrowly defeated Dabang Delhi 37-35 despite Ashu Malik’s brilliant 19 raid points. However, Puneri Paltan defeated them in the semi-finals.

This year, Patna extended their unbeaten streak against Delhi to four matches. Their first meeting this season ended in a dominant 44-30 victory for the Pirates.

The reverse fixture, however, was a thrilling 39-39 tie. Both Devank Dalal and Ashu Malik registered Super-10s for their respective teams. Ankit Jaglan achieved a High-5 for the Pirates, while Ashish Malik impressed with four successful tackles for Delhi.
