Jaipur Pink Panthers announced on Saturday (January 11) that they have appointed Narender Redhu as their head coach ahead of the Pro Kabaddi League 2025. The two-time PKL champions took to social media to make the announcement. Their Instagram post read:
"A leader, a visionary, and the start of a new era! A warm welcome to Narender Kumar as the new head coach of Jaipur Pink Panthers."
Narender Redhu guided Patna Pirates to the summit clash in the recently concluded edition of the Pro Kabaddi League. The Pirates finished fourth in the league stage with 77 points from 22 matches, including 13 wins, seven losses, and a couple of ties.
Patna Pirates defeated U Mumba 31-23 in the Eliminator 1 and registered a 32-28 win over Dabang Delhi KC in their semi-final encounter to set up the final clash against Haryana Steelers.
They lost 32-23 to the Steelers in the summit clash to finish PKL 11 as the runners-up. Gurdeep (six tackle points) and raider Devank (five points) were the top performers for the Pirates.
Redhu joined the Patna Pirates ahead of Pro Kabaddi League 2023 after serving a long stint with the Indian Armed Forces. In PKL Season 10, he guided the club to the playoffs but crashed out in the semis after losing to Puneri Paltan.
The Patna-based outfit released Narender Redhu after failing to lift the PKL trophy last season. Meanwhile, Jaipur Pink Panthers also parted ways with Sanjeev Baliyan, the club's longest-serving head coach.
