After a day's break, the action resumed once again in the VIVO Pro Kabaddi League as the hosts U Mumba squared off against the out-of-form U.P. Yoddha side. In a surprising turn of events, U.P. Yoddha won the match by four points. Earlier in the day, season one winners Jaipur Pink Panthers defeated the Haryana Steelers in a lopsided encounter.
Speaking of the game between Jaipur and Haryana first, the Pink Panthers got off to a terrific start as their skipper Deepak Niwas Hooda kept the scoreboard ticking with his timely touch points. He got good support from his teammates Sandeep Dhull and Amit Hooda as Jaipur built an early lead in the contest.
Haryana's young raider Vinay and corner defender Sunil scored 6 points each, however, their best efforts could not take Haryana through as they missed the services of their star raiders Vikash Khandola and Prashanth Kumar Rai in the raiding department.
On the other hand, Jaipur Pink Panthers' skipper Deepak Hooda showcased his fine form with 14 raid points while Sandeep Dhull too registered a High 5 for his side.
In the second game of the day, the home team U Mumba clashed with U.P. Yoddha, who received a huge boost with the return to fitnes of Rishank Devadiga ahead of this match. It seemed like Rishank's arrival sparked a new energy in the U.P. Yoddha side as they battled U Mumba with a positive outlook.
Both the teams traded points in the first half until U.P. Yoddha gained the momentum in the final moments of the first half by inflicting an all-out on U Mumba.
The Mumbai-based franchise came back in the match on the back of Rohit Baliyan's raid points. They took the game to the final minute until Fazel Atrachali committed an unforced error to hand over the victory to U.P. Yoddha.
The performance of Korean left cover Young Chang Ko was the biggest positive for U Mumba from this match whereas U.P. Yoddha's young corner defender Sumit surprised everyone with his 6 tackle points in the game.
