The Bengaluru Bulls had a forgettable season in Pro Kabaddi 2024. The season six champions won only two matches in 22 outings, recording 19 defeats and one tie. They finished last in the points table with only 19 points to their name.
Coach Randhir Singh Sehrawat disclosed before the final match of the season that around nine players of the Bengaluru Bulls squad were injured. As a result, the team could not match the expectations. He even mentioned that he will come back stronger in season 12.
The Bengaluru Bulls will have to make some tough calls to ensure their performance improves in the next edition of PKL. Here's a list of five players the Bulls might let go of.
#1 Bengaluru Bulls might end their association with Saurabh Nandal
Right corner defender Saurabh Nandal had been a game-changer for the Bengaluru Bulls over the last many seasons. In fact, the Bulls appointed him as their vice-captain for Pro Kabaddi 2024. However, Nandal could not impress in the Bulls jersey this season.
Coach Randhir Singh Sehrawat backed Nandal a lot, but he managed only 37 points in 20 matches, averaging less than two points per game. The fact that Nandal had zero High 5s in the tournament further highlights his below-par performance in the right corner position.
#2 Ajinkya Pawar
Coach Randhir Singh Sehrawat surprised everyone when he bid ₹1.10 crore to sign Ajinkya Pawar at the auction. Pawar had been a match-winner for the Tamil Thalaivas in PKL 10. Hence, the Bulls went all out for him.
However, right from the first match, Pawar looked like a shadow of his former self. His confidence was not the same as it was in the Thalaivas jersey. The raider ended the season with only 64 points in 17 games, with his raid strike rate being 37%.
#3 Jai Bhagwan
During the National Games played earlier this year, Jai Bhagwan was in impressive touch. His top form during the Nationals led to the Bengaluru Bulls splurging ₹63 lakh for his services at the auction.
Unfortunately for the Bulls, Jai could not score even 63 points for the team. He ended up with 45 raid points from 12 matches, averaging just 3.75 raid points per match. The Bulls will likely let him go before the next auction.
#4 Pramot Saising
Thailand raider Pramot Saising received a contract worth ₹13 lakh from the Bulls at the Pro Kabaddi 2024 Auction. However, the Bulls team management did not give Saising a single game throughout the season.
Even though the Bengaluru-based franchise had been eliminated from the race to playoffs, Saising did not get a match. It will be better for both parties if they part ways before the next season.
#5 Hasun Thongkruea
Unlike Pramot Saising, his compatriot Hasun Thongkruea got to play one match for the Bulls in Pro Kabaddi 2024. He went in to raid once but could not score a single point.
Hasun received ₹13 lakh for just one raid in PKL 2024. It will be better if the Bulls release both of their overseas players and sign some talented foreigners at the next auction.
