The Dabang Delhi KC had one of their best Pro Kabaddi League seasons in 2024. The season eight champions finished second in the points table after winning 13 out of 22 matches in the league round. The Delhi-based franchise lost only five matches, while the other four matches ended in a draw.
Delhi earned a direct entry into the semifinal round after finishing in the top 2 of the Pro Kabaddi League 2024 points table. However, they failed to qualify for the final and crashed out of the tournament, losing to the Patna Pirates 28-32 in the semifinals.
Nevertheless, it was a great season for the Dabang Delhi KC, and they will likely retain the following five players for the next edition of the Pro Kabaddi League.
#1 Dabang Delhi KC will likely retain Ashu Malik
This one is a no-brainer. Captain Ashu Malik has been a brilliant performer for the Delhi-based franchise over the last two seasons. He won the Best Raider award in season 10. In the ongoing tournament, he has attained the second position on the Raiders' leaderboard.
Shedding some more light on his performance in season 11, Malik scored 262 raid points in 23 matches for the Dabang Delhi KC team. It should not be a surprise if Malik represents Delhi in the next season as well.
#2 Yogesh Dahiya
Right-corner defender Yogesh Dahiya had another stellar season in the Delhi jersey. Dahiya scored 77 points in 23 matches, recording five High 5s and executing 10 super tackles throughout the season.
It will be a huge blunder for the Delhi-based franchise if they let go of a game-changer like Dahiya. Considering that he is still very young, Dahiya can be a long-term asset for Delhi.
#3 Naveen Kumar
Raider Naveen Kumar did not have the best PKL season of his career, but he still managed to score 100 points. Naveen seemed to have shifted to the secondary raider's role because of Ashu Malik's magnificent performance.
If Naveen agrees to another contract, Delhi should retain him because he is a great option as a support raider. For the record, Naveen averaged 6.06 raid points per game in PKL 2024.
#4 Ashish N
All-rounder Ashish N provided balance to the Delhi-based franchise with his all-round brilliance on the mat. He earned 35 raid points and 17 tackle points in the season.
Ashish was one of the few players to have completed a super tackle and executed a super raid in PKL 2024. Delhi might want to keep him in their squad for PKL 12 as well.
#5 Ashish Malik
Left corner defender Ashish Malik supported Yogesh Dahiya brilliantly in the Delhi defense. Ashish scored two High 5s and recorded one super tackle while playing as the left corner specialist for the Dabangs.
He averaged 2.14 successful tackles per match. If he works harder during the off-season, Ashish can make an equal contribution to the defense as Yogesh Dahiya. The Dabang Delhi KC should retain their corner duo of Ashish and Yogesh for PKL 12.
