Season eight champions Dabang Delhi KC will take on Gujarat Giants in match 65 of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) season 11. The match will be played at the Noida Indoor Stadium on Wednesday, November 20, and starts at 8pm IST.
While Dabang Delhi have had a decent campaign so far and sit sixth on the points table, Gujarat Giants sit dead last in 12th following a string of poor performances. This encounter will be the first one between the two sides this season.
With five wins and five losses to go with a tie halfway through the season, Dabang Delhi will hope for a positive outcome from this match. Their players seem high on confidence and will want to continue to string wins together and move upward in the points table.
On the other end, the Gujarat Giants can't seem to turn things around for them. They have suffered four losses from their last five games, with the recent win over Bengal Warriorz just their second one of the season in 11 games.
On that note, let us look at the three-player battles this match has to offer
#1 Ashu Malik vs Jitender Yadav
Ashu Malik is arguably one of Dabang Delhi's most valuable players. With the absence of Naveen on the mat, he has risen to the occasion, scoring 128 raid points with 10 Super 10s to his name. He has an average of 11.63 points every game, making him a prospect too hot to handle for the opposition's defense.
But Jitender Yadav is not one to back down from a challenge. Despite a poor season so far for the Gujarat Giants, he has a tackle success rate of 46%, earning a total of 28 tackle points, with two High 5s. This player battle is surely one to watch out for.
#2 Guman Singh vs Yogesh Dahiya
One of the big-money acquisitions for the Gujarat Giants, Guman Singh has been there and thereabouts for his new side. He has managed to score 74 raid points, averaging 7.4 points every game. So far, he has picked up three Super 10s, and is one of Ram Meher Singh's key men in the raiding department.
On the other end will be Yogesh Dahiya, who has been in fine form this season for Dabang Delhi. In the 10 matches, he has managed a tackle success rate of 52%, with 31 tackle points and three High 5s. This is another lip-smacking contest that awaits us.
#3 Ashish Sahdev Malik vs Rakesh Sungroya
Rakesh Sungroya of Gujarat Giants hasn't been in the best of forms this season, with 28 total raid points and an average of 3.11 raid points every game.
Ashish Sahdev Malik, on the other hand, has 21 total tackle points from nine games, with a High 5 to go with it. He will be looking ahead to this game and hoping that he can further improve his form, the signs of which he has already shown in recent games.
