The Pro Kabaddi League will change its base once again before it moves to Mumbai for the semi-finals and the final. With the final lap of the race for the semi-finals upon us we take a look at what the Pune leg means for the eight different teams.
Looking to relax and experiment
U-Mumba, Telugu Titans and the Bengaluru Bulls have done their business early and can afford to relax a bit. U-Mumba have confirmed their top spot and hence could experiment with their squad. It will also give the team a much needed rest. Telugu Titans and Bengaluru Bulls will vie for the 2nd spot but will most likely end up facing each other in the semi-finals anyways.
Qualification dog fight
Champions Jaipur Pink Panthers have made a dismal start but have recovered in excellent fashion to sit on the cusp of qualification. But Patna Pirates are still keeping them on the toes being just five points adrift of the. With both teams having to play two games, the race for the 4th spot looks certain to go till the wire. Can Patna oust the Champions? Or will the Champions prevail?
Playing for sheer pride
Dabang Delhi, Bengal Warriors and Puneri Paltan have been left to play for pride after the respective teams got ousted from the league. Dabang Delhi will finish off their campaign when the take on Puneri Paltan later today, while the Bengal Warriors too would like to end on a high. Puneri Paltan though have special four matches to come at home when they would look to send off the fans with a top performance. All the three teams have had their moments in the league and will look to add to those in the final act of the play.
The main issue remains that of the final qualifying spot for which Jaipur and Patna are fighting for. Champions Jaipur are favorites considering they have the form and a five point lead over the Patna Pirates.
