#5 U Mumba’s fortress finally breached
Season 4 was one to forget for U Mumba. They finished outside the top 4 for the first time since the league’s inception. To make matters worse, Anup and co. were handed their first ever loss on home soil.
Mumbai set a stunning precedent by failing to lose at home for the first three seasons. Looking back, it’s an extraordinary record to have. After a 14-match winning run at home, they eventually caved in, going down to an unfancied Bengal Warriors who ended the season at the bottom of the table.
The impact of that unforeseen loss was instant. The very next game, Mumbai were once again beaten by another bottom-of-the-table side, Bengaluru Bulls.
