The Ranchi leg of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 5 ended with the home team Patna Pirates winning four matches, losing one and drawing the other match. The leg witnessed some superb performances from the raiders led by 'Dubki King' Pardeep Narwal and Monu Goyat.

Patna’s superb home form has helped them reach the top of Zone B and makes them the favourites to qualify first. The best team from the Ranchi leg features two of the best corners of the PKL, two emerging cover defenders, a raider making his name and 2 superstar left raiders leading by example.

Right Corner (Sandeep Narwal)

Sandeep Narwal produced a superb performance to lead Pune to a comfortable win against Haryana Steelers. The muscular all-rounder produced a fine all-round performance scoring nine points, which included seven tackle points, making it his first High 5 of PKL 5 and also the highest tackle points by a Pune player in a single match. S

Sandeep also crossed 200 raid points in the match and became only the 2nd player in PKL to score more than 200 raid points and 150 tackle points.

Right in (Monu Goyat)

Monu finally got out of the shadows of Pardeep Narwal in the home leg, proving that he is no longer a support raider by scoring 54 raid points in six matches, including four Super 10s.

He has now scored 134 raid points and is only behind Pardeep in the race for the green arm band. He did a superb job in reviving Pardeep quickly when the 'Dubki King' was tackled, ensuring that Patna’s captain spent more time on the mat. Monu’s brilliant hand touches and escapes were too hot for the defences to handle.

Right cover (Sidharth)

Young all-rounder Sidharth produced a quality display against Dabang Delhi, scoring his first High 5 in the league. His super tackle on Meraj Sheykh, when Jaipur were down to two men, helped avert the threat of an all-out and helped Jaipur maintain their lead and go on to win the match.

With Jaipur’s defence struggling, Sidharth led the charge with his superb timing and execution of his tackles. His emergence will be good news for Jaipur, who are usually heavily reliant on Manjeet Chhillar.

Centre (Nitin Tomar)

The UP Yoddha captain continued to shoulder the raiding burden for his side, scoring 30 raid points in two matches, including two Super 10s against the defending champions Patna Pirates.

His brilliant performance on the last day of the Ranchi leg gave his side their second win in 10 outings and his 16 raid points also inflicted the first defeat on Patna in their home leg. Tomar has now scored Super 10s in his last three matches and has risen to third place on the raiders leaderboard with 126 raid points.

Left cover (Parvesh Bhainswal)

Parvesh Bhainswal has been a consistent performer for Gujarat but scored his first High 5 of the campaign against the star-studded raiding lineup of U Mumba. Parvesh’s brilliant performance meant U Mumba’s emerging left raider Shrikant Jadhav failed to make much of an impact.

His fine performance in both the encounters against U Mumba in the Ranchi leg helped Gujarat complete a hattrick of wins against the Mumbai side and send them on top of the Zone A table.

Left in (Pardeep Narwal)

The Dubki King’s consistent brilliant performances mean he is always a fixture in this list. The Patna Pirates captain scored 75 raid points in his home leg, including an incredible five Super 10s.

The 20-year-old became the first player to score 200 raid points in a PKL season and has also so far scored an unbelievable 13 Super 10s, which is also a league record. At the rate at which he is going, Pardeep might end up with more than 300 raid points and can also take them to their third title in a row.

Left Corner (Fazel Atrachali)

The Iranian left corner was quiet for the last few matches but roared back to form scoring a superb High 5 against U Mumba. He scored eight tackle points from nine attempted tackles, highlighting his brilliant judgment and execution.

He completely dominated U Mumba's captain Anup Kumar, successfully tackling him thrice and sending him off court. Fazel’s return to form is great news for Gujarat as it further strengthens their already powerful defensive unit.
