The Pro Kabaddi League Season 5 is past its halfway mark, with the seventh week about to come to an end on Thursday in Haryana. The new season has seen some incredible performances from some of the league's biggest names such as Pardeep Narwal, Rahul Chaudhari, Anup Kumar and Rohit Kumar, who have led their teams from the front with some extraordinary displays.
However, there is one Pro Kabaddi icon who has been unable to make his mark on the league this season. Jaipur Pink Panthers skipper Manjeet Chhillar, who is one of the best players to have stepped on to the PKL mat, has been out of action for most of the season after suffering an injury in the initial weeks of the campaign.
Against the Steelers in what will be his side's tenth match of the season, the Jaipur skipper will finally make his much-awaited return to the mat. An official in the Jaipur Pink Panthers camp confirmed the news to Sportskeeda, stating that 'Mighty Manjeet' has been given the green signal to play and is raring to go.
Jasvir Singh is also likely to return to the starting lineup for the side from the Pink City, as he sat out the previous encounter against the Patna Pirates due to a slight niggle. Selvamani K, their star raider, who was injured in the team's season-opening match against Dabang Delhi, is unlikely to take part in tonight's encounter.
The Pink Panthers were blown away by a Pardeep Narwal-led Pirates in their previous match, who led them to a whopping 47-21 win. However, the return of Chhillar will serve as a massive boost to the team's morale as well as their winning chances, given his exceptional abilities on the mat along with his leadership qualities.
The Jaipur side currently sit on the bottom of the Zone A table with six wins and three losses under their belt but a win tonight will see them leapfrog Dabang Delhi into fifth place.
