Monu Goyat was brought by Haryana Steelers at a whopping price of 1.51 crore rupees which made him the costliest player of the season.

Before the season started, Rambir Singh Khokhar (Haryana Steelers' coach) said in an interview that Monu Goyat was fantastic as Pardeep Nawal's support raider in season 5 and has the ability to play the role of a lead raider. However, Monu Goyat has not looked comfortable in the position.

He has scored just 71 raid points in the 11 matches he has played at a poor average of 6.45. He has just three super 10's to his name.

His performance has not been good even as a captain and the team has lost 8 of the 11 matches under his captaincy.

His poor performances forced the team management to remove him from the starting 7 and to use him as a substitute against U Mumba.

Till now, the fans have not seen the Monu Goyat which they saw in season 5. But the 26-year-old has the ability to recover and all the fans would be expecting him to perform better in the upcoming matches.
