Maninder was the third-highest scorer in the opening season of the PKL but missed the next three seasons. When the Bengal Warriors picked him at the auction, it was a big gamble, to put it mildly. However, Maninder was their biggest match-winner and helped the team to finish top of Zone B. His raw power and tactical acumen proved too much for plenty of defenders and he was particularly effective in getting bonuses at key moments.
