The dubki king Pardeep Narwal has been rock-solid for the Pirates with 107 raid points in season 4. Pardeep has always been a nightmare for the Puneri Paltan defenders since he emerged into the scene last season.
Even the best defensive all-rounder Manjeet Chhillar has capitulated to the 20-year old’s crafty raids in the past. In the current season, Pardeep has scored 19 raid points in the two match against Puneri Paltans.
Pardeep look set to trouble the Pune defence once again in today’s semi-final. Rajesh Mondal and Surjeet Singh should ably support Pardeep in do-or-die situations.
Patna’s left corner defender Fazel Atrachali is currently one of the leading defenders with 41 tackles points in season 4. His Partner in crime Dharmaraj Cheralathan has scored 29 tackle points including seven super tackles, and the duo will be up against the in-form Pune attack lead by Deepak Niwas Hudda.
Kuldeep Singh stepping up at the important moments will be a good news for the Pirates, heading into today’s semi-final.
Due to Manjeet Chillar’s heroics , Puneri Paltan outclassed the Bengaluru Bulls in the previous match. After the less impressive first half, Manjeet went all guns blazing against his old team in the final 20 minutes with 11 tackles points. Today’s semi-final will be a huge test for Manjeet as he will be up against one of the best attacks in season 4.
Puneri Paltan relies a lot on their raiders Nitin Tomar and Ajay Thakur to come good in the crunch semi-final. Having scored 101 raid points in season 4, Deepak will look to carry his impressive form. Pune’s attacking trio will face a stiff battle against the cornerstones of Patna defence Dharmaraj Cheralathan and Fazel Atrachali.
In the past, the matches between Patna and Pune have produced intriguing results, but, however, Manjeet Chhillar’s men have never defeated the Patna Pirates in PKL history. This game will also be a rematch of last season’s semi-final, won by Patna by a huge margin of 40-21.
It’s going to be a battle between Patna’s attack and Pune’s defence. Let’s wait and watch who come out on top in today’s high-octane semi-final clash.
