Season 3 of Pro Kabaddi League had witnessed some stellar team and individual performances. One such team that had a consistent team record is U Mumba and the player that had a lion’s share in getting the team to its final is none other than, Rishank Devadiga.
This young local boy had managed to steal the show right from Season 1 and continued to do so in the next 2 seasons too with his splendid performances, be it in raiding or defending. Rishank has proved that he is truly a superstar not just for his team, U Mumba, but for Indian Kabaddi.
Rishank’s performance has been escalating throughout all the seasons. In spite of being a part of a team full of stalwarts like Anup Kumar and Shabeer Bapu Sharfudheen, this young local lad did make an impact right from Season 1 and proved that he is another feather on the cap for U Mumba.
Season 2 was very remarkable for U Mumba as they were the champions of this edition of Pro Kabaddi. Again, Rishank did give some mind blowing performances for the team. Rishank is primarily a raider but as they, in Kabaddi, you have to change roles as the situation demands and Rishank did exactly the same. Rishank did evolve as a defender too in Season 2 initiating quite a lot of tackles.
Rishank started Season 3 as a substitute giving a glimpse of his talent in the very first match against Telugu Titans, fetching points at crucial moments. From then, there was no looking back for this youngster. Rishank did a commendable job by leading the raiding department of U Mumba in the absence of skipper Anup Kumar who was on national duty and continued to do so even after Anup returned.
The local boy of Mumbai bagged second spot among top raiders and first place according to successful raids bagging him the ‘Raider of the Tournament’ award in Season 3. Rishank is also a vital defender and initiated quite a lot of tackles and some of them were even SOLO tackles.
Rishank is certainly a to-be-superstar for Indian Kabaddi and many are already banking on him for the future of Indian Kabaddi.
