Just a few days after suffering a big defeat at the hands of Dabang Delhi KC, Tamil Thalaivas will be in action once again in Pro Kabaddi League 2024. The Thalaivas will play their first match of the Pune leg against Guman Singh's Gujarat Giants at the Badminton Hall in Balewadi Sports Complex.

Tamil Thalaivas looked off-color in their previous match against Dabang Delhi KC. The defense could not stop Naveen Kumar at all as his Super 10 guided the Dabangs to a 32-21 win. The Thalaivas will be keen to make a fresh start in Pune tonight.

On the other side, the Gujarat Giants played out a thrilling 34-34 draw in their first match of the Pune leg against the Bengaluru Bulls. Despite having a lead in the game, the Giants could not play well under pressure and settled for a stalemate in their previous Pro Kabaddi League 2024 match.

Both franchises will aim to get back to the winning track when they lock horns at the Badminton Hall in Balewadi Sports Complex. Before the battle gets underway, here's a glance at the three players who Dream11 users can select as captain or vice-captain of their respective teams.

#1 Moein Safaghi, Tamil Thalaivas

Although Tamil Thalaivas managed to score only 21 points in 40 minutes against Dabang Delhi KC in their last match, Moein Safaghi impressed the fans a lot. The Iranian player stole the show by scoring eight points in the game. Six out of his eight points came via raiding, while the other two points came in the defensive unit.

Safaghi has proven himself as a consistent performer for the Tamil Thalaivas. He may not be a popular pick in the fantasy contests tonight, but looking at his recent performances, the Iranian all-rounder can be a game-changing pick as captain or vice-captain in fantasy contests.

#2 Rakesh HS, Gujarat Giants

Rakesh HS was the top raider for the Gujarat Giants in the last few Pro Kabaddi League seasons. However, his performances were not up to the mark this season until the Pune leg began.

In the first match of the Pune leg against Bengaluru Bulls, Rakesh came in as a substitute and emerged as the top-scorer for the Gujarat Giants. He scored seven points in the game, with five of them being touch points. His confidence would have increased a lot after that performance. If he features in the starting seven tonight, he will be a fantastic choice for captaincy or vice-captaincy.

#3 Nitesh Kumar, Tamil Thalaivas

Tamil Thalaivas' left corner defender Nitesh Kumar has the highest tackle points in this season among all the players participating in this Pro Kabaddi League 2024 fixture. Kumar has scored 51 tackle points in 15 matches, and he is in the race to win the Best Defender award.

While Kumar could not impress much against Dabang Delhi KC, he can have a memorable day on the mat against the Gujarat Giants. In Gujarat's last match against Bengaluru Bulls, opposition left corner defender Nitin Rawal scored seven tackle points. Perhaps, Nitesh can do a similar job for the Thalaivas in Pro Kabaddi tonight.
