The Telugu Titans (TEL) and the Jaipur Pink Panthers (JAI) face off in the ninth match of Pro Kabaddi 2024 on Tuesday, October 22, at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad.
The Titans suffered a heavy 29-44 defeat to the Tamil Thalaivas after their win on the opening night against the Bengaluru Bulls. Pawan Sehrawat has been their best player with back-to-back Super 10s, with Vijay Malik also having a decent game. However, the Titans' defense struggled to contain the Bulls' raiders, and they'll have to contend with Arjun Deshwal now.
Jaipur rode on Arjun Deshwal's 15-point show, well supported by an all-round effort from Abhijeet Malik to register a 39-34 win over the Bengal Warriorz in their opening contest.
Let's now look at the top three Dream11 surprise picks from this match.
#3 Lucky Sharma (DEF) (JAI)
Jaipur right corner defender Lucky Sharma didn't have the best of outings against the Bengal Warriorz as he finished zero tackle points for the night. Faced with the big challenge of filling Sahul Kumar's shoes, Lucky couldn't quite play at his best against Bengal, but the management is likely to back him in this match.
He was a very handy defender to have on the bench for Jaipur last season, chipping in with some useful points whenever brought on. Making the transition from a substitute to a starter isn't easy, but Lucky certainly has it in him to do so.
With a very high Dream11 points ceiling, Lucky Sharma is one to watch out for in this match.
#2 Ankit Jaglan (DEF) (TEL)
Ankit Jaglan in the Titans' left corner could be a solid Dream11 pick for this match, despite his low ownership levels. He scored 18 tackle points in 11 matches last season, and is set to be their starting left corner this season.
He scored three tackle points in the Titans' opening fixture against the Bulls, but could manage only one against the Tamil Thalaivas. The left corner position usually sees the most tackle points for defenders, and a confident Ankit should initiate plenty of tackles.
For those looking for a powerful Dream11 surprise pick, Ankit is the right option.
#1 Reza Mirbagheri (DEF) (JAI)
Reza Mirbagheri is one of the best left covers in the league, and one bad game shouldn't dissuade you from selecting him for your Dream11 teams. The Iranian couldn't register a single tackle point against Bengal, but he did chip in with a couple of handy touch points.
However, his numbers from previous seasons should definitely bolster your confidence in picking him. He scored 60 tackle points in 22 matches last season which is a brilliant total for a cover defender.
Given that he plays for the team which is the favorite to win this match, increasing his chances of getting all-out points as well, Reza Mirbagheri could end up being a very effective Dream11 surprise pick.
