In Match No. 65 of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 5, the Telugu Titans will lock horns against the Puneri Paltan as a part of the Inter-Zone Challenge Week at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Indoor Stadium in Kolkata.
Both the teams are coming into this encounter on the back of a win from their previous match. While the Telugu Titans defeated the Tamil Thalaivas in the Southern derby, the Puneri Paltan overcame U Mumba in the Maharashtra derby.
The Telugu Titans started off the season on a dismal note with a poor show in the home leg but have since looked like an improved side especially in the last few matches. The attack is led by the poster boy of Indian kabaddi, Rahul Chaudhari who is second on the leaderboard for most number of raid points, 85 to be precise. He is assisted by the likes of Nilesh Salunkhe and young Iranian Mohsen Maghsoudlou.
The other Iranian import, Farhad Milaghardan has brought forth the much-needed balance to the side by performing in the defence as well as the attack as per the demand of the situation. The defence of the side is manned by experienced Rohit Rana alongside Sombir, who set a new record if amassing 10 tackle points in a single match and Vishal Bhardwaj who has been quite impressive in the corner position.
Puneri Paltan, on the other hand, boasts of the most experienced side on paper, with skipper Deepak Hooda leading the way with his all-round skills. Alongside him, Rohit Kumar Chaudhary assists the attack while Rajesh Mondal plays in the capacity of a do-or-die specialist. Young gun Monu has also given glimpses of his raiding prowess in a couple of matches whenever he has come in as a substitute.
The defence of the Pune side is like a formidable wall with the likes of Sandeep Narwal, Dharmaraj Cheralathan and Bangladeshi recruit Ziaur Rehman combining to stop the best of the rivals raiders in their tracks.
Telugu Titans vs Puneri Paltan match prediction
In this fixture, Puneri Paltan definitely has the upper hand over the Titans for the former primarily relies on the solo efforts of Rahul Chaudhari to power them across the finish line.
However, if both sides showcase an all-round performance, the match is likely to go down to the wire especially if the likes of Sombir, Vishal, Ziaur Rehman, Mahghsoudlou and Monu come to the fore.
