Telugu Titans vs Tamil Thalaivas Match Prediction: Who will win today's Pro Kabaddi 2017 match?

Match No. 54 in the Pro Kabaddi League Season 5 will feature a South Indian derby with the Telugu Titans taking on the Tamil Thalaivas at the Dome, NSCI in Mumbai.

When the two teams met previously in the very first match of this edition, it was the Titans which came out on top with a 32-27 scoreline against the Thalaivas.

In tonight's encounter, however, both teams are coming off similar results from their previous matches, with the Thalaivas losing their last clash against the Patna Pirates while the Telugu Titans succumbed to the UP Yoddha.

The Telugu Titans are a relatively strong team on paper and are led by kabaddi's poster-boy, Rahul Chaudhari who has been doing the bulk of the scoring for the team. The problem with the Titans has been that their big players in the likes of experienced guys such as Rohit Rana and Rakesh Kumar have failed to fire as much. Young guns such Vinoth in the raiding and Sombir in the defence have come to the fore but need to play a greater role if the team is to succeed. Farhad Milaghardan and Mohsen Maghsoudlou, the Iranian recruits have been impressive so far with their all-round display of skills while the likes of Nilesh Salunkhe and Vishal Bhardwaj need to put in more efforts to power the team to a victory.

The Tamil Thalaivas, on the other hand, have also relied on their captain Ajay Thakur increasingly in the last few matches to spearhead the attack and bring in the maximum number of points. A major problem that has become evident with this side is the fact that they have a plethora of youngsters in their side with a lack of experienced campaigners to guide them around. The defence is manned by the likes of Amit Hooda and C Arun alongside Darshan who has given glimpses of his talent. As for the raids, Ajay is assisted by the likes of Prapanjan, D Pradap and Vineet Kumar.

This match is an evenly poised encounter with both sides on the hunt for a much-needed win in order to tide past a string of poor performance. The key for the defence of both teams will be to stop the rival skipper, Ajay or Rahul and thus the match is likely to go down to the wire. The clash could well end up finishing in a tie as has been the case in many clashes this season.
