Match No. 79 of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 5 will witness an action packed encounter between U Mumba and the Gujarat Fortunegiants at the Harivansh Tana Bhagat Indoor Stadium in Ranchi, Jharkhand.
When the two teams met earlier in the season during the Ahmedabad leg, it was the Gujarat Fortunegiants who came out on top, inflicting a 39-21 defeat on U Mumba.
Prior to this clash, the Gujarat Fortunegiants played out a tie against the UP Yoddha while U Mumba registered a win against the mighty Patna Pirates in the Sonepat leg.
U Mumba is high on confidence post the last four consecutive wins and are led by the experienced captain, Anup Kumar who is no more a raider but a complete all-rounder for the team with the increased number of tackles in this season. Kashiling Adake has been in brilliant form in the recent matches and the same can be said by about young gun Srikanth Jadhav, the duo leads the attack for the side and picked up 27 points between them in the last match.
Darshan Kadian has also been impressive in the attack for the side in the do-or-die situations as well with the rare tackles. The defence needs to buck up when it comes to precision specifically with respect to Surinder's advance tackle attempts while Kuldeep and Hadi Oshtorak need to contribute more.
The Gujarat Fortunegiants, on the other hand, have witnessed a slump in their form post the seven-match winning streak early this season. The attack is spearheaded by captain Sukesh Hegde, alongside the new star, Sachin and now Chandran Ranjit who has made his way into the team in place of Rohit Gulia.
The defence is bolstered by the presence of Iranian power-duo, Fazel Atrachali and Abozar Mighani, who man either corner on the mat and are lethal with their tackles. Adding depth to the attack and completing the starting seven is the Indian cover defensive duo of Parvesh Bhainswal and Sunil who have been consistent with their performances.
U Mumba vs Gujarat Fortune Giants match prediction
This match looks evenly balanced on paper and like many clashes, this season can well head for a tie. The defence is the weak link for U Mumba while the attack has not been good for Gujarat in the recent matches, but having said that the Gujarat defence will have to be on point against the Mumbai raiders especially Kashi and Srikanth who will otherwise go rampant on the mat.
