In their last match at home, U Mumba will take the battle across to their old rivals, Jaipur Pink Panthers yet again at the Dome, NSCI.
When the two teams met previously, locking horns on the first day of the Mumbai leg, it was the Jaipur Pink Panthers who came out on top with a scoreline of 36-39.
U Mumba notched up their first win at home last night against the Haryana Steelers and will be looking to continue in the same fashion, to sustain the momentum against the Panthers as well.
U Mumba has not been in their classic form this season and has sort of struggled to perform with a stamping authority on the mat. Anup Kumar, the skipper, has had to lead the side and put in relevant contributions not only in the attack but also the defence.
The defence has been the weak link of the side, with the two young guns, Surinder and Renjith giving away more points that they end up amassing. The raiders, however in the likes of Srikanth Jadhav, Darshan and Kashiling Adake seems to be up to their task since the last couple of matches.
The key cog in the machine will be Kuldeep Singh with his ability to play in the defence as well as the attack as per the situations' demand.
The Jaipur Pink Panthers, on the other hand, have been performing adequately well with a second string side in the absence of their elite players such as Manjeet Chhillar and Selvamani owing to injury concerns.
Young all-rounders in the likes of Sunil, Siddharth, Nitin Rawal have come to the fore in the last few matches. Santhapanaselvam has been doing a great job in the corner position while Pawan Kumar was in stellar form against his former side, U Mumba in the last match.
The experience of Somvir Shekhar and the captaincy of Jasvir Singh adds a whole lot of strength to the team.
U Mumba vs Jaipur Pink Panthers match prediction
If one has to call the match, the advantage would slightly tilt in favour of the Pink Pathers for they will be high on confidence having defeated U Mumba in their last match.
The key will be again to relegate Anup to the bench for the maximum amount of time and then make inroads into the rest of the side. Pawan Kumar will have to lead the attacking charge yet again, akin to the last match where he bagged 9 raid points.
