#2 Joash Onyango
Joash Onyango has developed into one of the best defenders in the country since joining Gor Mahia in 2017. The former Western Stima defender has been a mainstay in both Gor Mahia and the Harambee Stars squads. He was voted most valuable player in the Kenyan Premier League last season and he hass carried on with his magnificent performances this campaign as well.
He was named Gor Mahia's assistant captain at the beginning of the season and has been an able deputy for Kenneth Muguna. Alongside Charles Momanyi, they've led a strong defensive line for the Green Army conceding only nine goals in 18 matches.
The no-nonsense defender is expected to play a crucial for Gor Mahia in their second half of the season as they push for their 19th Kenyan Premier League title. He controls the tempo and nullifies opposition attacks making him very crucial for the Green Army. His positioning and aerial prowess enable him to easily win aerial duels and offer maximum protection to the goalkeeper.
