2. Victor Wanyama
Victor Wanyama is the most expensive Kenyan footballer in history after his record-breaking transfer to Southampton from Scottish giants Celtic in 2013 for a fee reported to be around £12.5m, also becoming the first Kenyan to ever play in the English Premier League in the process.
The combative defensive midfielder's impressive performance in the centre of the park for the Saints secured him a dream move to Tottenham Hotspur in 2016, giving him another opportunity to feature in the UEFA Champions League.
Wanyama was impressive for the Lily Whites in the UEFA Champions League where he collected a runners-up medal after falling short in the finals against Liverpool. The Harambee Stars skipper had a deal to join Belgian side Club Brugge fall through on the last day of the summer transfer window.
The failed transfer away from Tottenham Hotspur has given Wanyama a great opportunity to work with Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho who also coached his brother MacDonald Mariga at Inter Milan.
