The Kho Kho World Cup 2025 commenced on Monday (January 13), with hosts India taking on Nepal in the season opener at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi.
The league stage will be played across four days from January 13 to 16 with 20 men's teams and 19 women's teams. The group stage will be followed by the knockouts stage - quarter-finals on Friday (January 17), semi-finals on Saturday (January 18), and final on Sunday (January 19).
The 20 men's teams are divided across four groups of five teams each. Hosts India are pitted in Group A alongside Nepal, Peru, Brazil, and Bhutan. South Africa, Ghana, Argentina, Netherlands, and Iran are drawn in Group B, while Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, the Republic of Korea, the United States of America, and Poland form Group C. Group D consists of England, Germany, Malaysia, Australia, and Kenya.
In the women's event, there are three groups of five teams each and one group with four nations. India are drawn in Group A with Iran, Malaysia, and the Republic of Korea.
England, Australia, Kenya, Uganda, and the Netherlands are pitted in Group B. Meanwhile, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Germany, and Bangladesh are drawn in Group C. South Africa, New Zealand, Poland, Peru, Indonesia are the five nations in Group D of the women's Kho Kho World Cup 2025.
